NASA Awards Modeling and Simulation Contract
MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. NASA has selected Science and Technology Corp., Hampton, Va., to receive a contract for Aeronautics and Exploration Mission Modeling and Simulation at NASA's Ames Research Center. The contract has a maximum value of $23 million.
This is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee task order contract that begins on July 30, 2010. The contract consists of a two-year base period and includes three one-year options.
Under the terms of the contract, the company will provide research and development support for the Systems Analysis and Integration Branch in the Flight Vehicle Research and Technology Division and the Applied Modeling and Simulation and Fundamental Modeling and Simulation Branches in the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division at Ames for the Aeronautics Research and Exploration Systems mission directorates at NASA Headquarters, Washington. The company also will support the Aeromechanics Division in the U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command and Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Centers Aeroflightdynamics Directorate at Ames.
The company's major objectives in support of NASA's and the Army's mission critical engineering applications will be to develop and apply technologies to design and analyze aerospace vehicles and systems, perform large-scale numerical simulations, make fundamental advances in numerical methodologies, algorithms, physical models and application code development.
